Skills Development Program
We're pleased to announce that this year's skills program is being run in partnership with
Canadian Hockey Enterprises. A recognized leader in hockey camps and tournaments CHE will be bringing their experience to Millbrook in a series of sessions spread throughout the skills season.
Hockey Canada recently published some research findings stating that it takes 11 games for a child to learn what they learn in a single practice. With this in mind we are proud to again be offering the MDMHA Skills Development Program.
The Skills Development Program is an optional program that can be thought of as a once-a-week hockey school that runs all season long. The intent is to provide an extra 50 minutes of ice time each week dedicated strictly to the development of hockey fundamentals. Other than a two-week break at Christmas, the Skills Development Program will run for the bulk of the season (approx. 16 weeks).
For children 7 and under the skills program is limited to those who are registered on a Mite or Tyke team.
Due to high registration numbers the first (Mite/Tyke) session is closed to non-registered skaters.
