Skills Development Program
Hockey Canada recently published some research findings stating that it takes 11 games for a child to learn what they learn in a single practice. With this in mind we are proud to again be offering the MDMHA Skills Development Program.
The Skills Development Program is an optional program that can be thought of as a once-a-week hockey school that runs all season long. The intent is to provide an extra 50 minutes of ice time each week dedicated strictly to the development of hockey fundamentals. Other than a two-week break at Christmas, the Skills Development Program will run for the bulk of the season (approx. 16 weeks).
For children 7 and under the skills program is limited to those who are registered on a Mite or Tyke team.
This program couldn't happen without the incredible support of our volunteers. We always welcome more helpers on the ice, please call (705.277.2177) or email our Skills Coordinator Glen Hunter for more information.
The cost of the Skills Development Program for 2010/2011 is $75 per child - an incredible bargain for 16 sessions of instruction!
