If you click on the link to view a web air on brain injuries...something everyone with a child involved in a contact sport should be aware of. It is an hour long but really informative on the importance of how to properly treat an injury and some myths associated with brain injuries, mouth guards and helmets.
I have attached the scat (concussion) card discussed in the web air so if nothing else please review this. Also attached is the return to play (most recent guidelines) steps that I have. In our case, should this ever be required ,the return to play (doctors note) will fall after step 3 prior to a player participating in drills as contact is not an issue as much as falling at high speed is for our kids.
They will be allowed to skate, after the proper steps, and will require a doctors note prior to full practice participation. This note will be the one from the doctor that approves them for play.
